Homemade Christmas gifts you can make in less than 15 minutes

The big day is fast approaching and there’s still so much to do. Cards need to be written, the house needs decorating and there’s all that food to think about. It can feel like you’re running out of time, especially when you haven’t sorted everyone’s presents yet. But if you have a spare 15 minutes then you can make a homemade Christmas gift that someone will love.

The video is here for you to watch, or read on for further information:

Quick and easy homemade Christmas presents

    Creative Christmas tea trees

    You’ll need:

    • Styrofoam cones or just toilet roll tubes.
    • Tea bags that are individually wrapped. Enough to cover the cone/tube.
    • Glue.
    • Wooden stars or other decorative embellishments.

In less than 15 minutes you can create a cute gift for the tea lover in your life. Glue the tea bags to the cone or tube, working from the bottom to the top and slightly overlapping them. You will soon create a Christmas tree effect with the tea bags and then all that’s left to do is add the decorations. Quick, easy and you’re left with a fun and thoughtful gift.

    Themed mason money jars

    You’ll need:

    • Mason jars.
    • Coin slot lids (available from craft stores).
    • Paint.
    • Decorations.

These fantastic themed jars are perfect for young children that want to save up their allowance. Choose a theme they’ll love before painting and decorating them in that style. The possibilities are endless. You can paint them in the colors of their favorite sports team, superhero or cartoon character. If you’re planning a trip away, then paint the colors of the flags of the country you’ll be visiting so they can save up some spending money.

    Recipe book

    You’ll need:

    • A notebook of recipes you’ve written.
    • Card.
    • Chameleon Pens.

If you’re the king or queen of the kitchen and everyone is always desperate for your recipes, then this is the perfect handmade Christmas gift for adults. It only takes a short time to put together once you have everything you need, but the full step by step instructions are able to view here. Fill the book with your all-time favorite recipes and then decorate the front cover with Chameleon Pens.

    Teacup candles

    What you’ll need:

    • Teacups.
    • Wax and wicks.
    • Wooden skewers.
    • Optional dyes and scents.

If you have some beautiful teacups hidden away in the cupboard that never see the light of day, then why not repurpose them as beautiful candles? They’re a wonderful homemade Christmas gift and best of all, they only take a few minutes to make. Simply heat the wax until it’s liquid, add any dyes or scents and pour into the candles. You’ll use the skewers as support for when you add the wick. Add a festive scent and they’ll have something to look forward to next year.

    Christmas baubles

    What you’ll need:

    • Clear ball.
    • Festive scene on paper or card that’s been decorated with Chameleon Pens.
    • Fake snow or glitter.
    • Ribbon or twine.

Everyone loves a bauble and you can make your own for a loved one to add to their collection. Each time they see it glittering on the tree they’ll think of you and remember your wonderful gift. Create a small scene of your choosing on paper or card and color with Chameleon Pens. Add fake snow and put inside the clear ball. Clear ornaments are easy to snap apart and snap back together so it's easy to add items like the fake snow. Attach ribbon so that it can be easily hung.

    Poinsettia gift card holder

    What you’ll need:

    • Card.
    • Dies.
    • Chameleon Pens.
    • Glue.
    • Foam pads.

Gift cards and vouchers are popular at Christmas, especially as gifts for someone that doesn’t really know what they want. It might be that the vouchers are for new homeowners and it’s easier to just let them use the credit to buy what they want. Either way, just because it’s a gift card, doesn’t mean you can’t make it special.

Here, Cathy Andronicou from the Chameleon Creative Community used Chameleon Pens to create a gift card holder.

The poinsettia design is a wonderful addition to the card holder but would also make any card, bauble or tag extra special. Thanks to Cathy for sharing this wonderful creation with us!
